When I was first starting my fledgling writing/editing career, I had a job on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The workplace was much more conservative then -- I remember power suits, nylons, and shoulder pads. Back in the stone age (mid-nineties), we didn’t have casual Fridays and jeans were a big no-no. Oh how the workplace has changed! Now, it seems almost anything goes. And, with so many of us working from home, I wonder who even bothers to get out of their sweats.
That’s where jewelry fits in so well. It is a simple addition that elevates your look from casual to dressy without a whole lot of thought.
A great necklace paired with jeans and a t-shirt turns your basic, go-to outfit to something to meet clients in. My favorite necklace for this is Catherine Canino’s Chunky Chain and Pearl, which I wear all the time. Throw on a blazer and cute shoes and you’re really good to go. Other great options are statement necklaces and long layering necklaces.
The accessory of the moment are Statement Earrings, as seen on all the Spring runways. What’s great about these shoulder dusters is that’s all you need! Keep the rest of your outfit quiet and let your earrings do all the talking. We especially love these chandelier earrings from Miguel Ases.
And, sometimes the addition of a simple bracelet is about as bling-y as one needs to get. I’m obsessed with the simplicity of blogger Monic Sutter’s style. I love her crisp white shirt paired with our edgy Zoe Wrap Bracelet.
Clean and cool, classic yet modern. Great style made easy with jewelry.
As Always, Shine Bright!
