As a busy mom of two young boys, I’m always racing from one place to the next: from their school to a gym or to a playing field, all the while trying to squeeze in a walk for our yellow labrador. As you can imagine, it’s not a life that requires dressing up...in fact, I can’t remember the last time I wore a dress (sad, but true). My uniform is jeans and a t-shirt.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to look good or stylish. Thankfully, there are so many Street Style stars these days demonstrating simple ways to dress up my casual look. And, it all has to do with accessories, namely necklaces. Here are a few of our Street Style favorites featuring Outfit-Changing Necklaces.
Chokers are such an easy accessory and they are so on-trend. I love how blogger Belle de Couture dressed up her simple button down with our gold Americana Choker. The choker transforms the outfit from boring to beautiful.
Statement Necklaces add instant pizazz, style, and interest to any outfit. I'm taking notes from blogger Mrs. Swansburg on styling statement necklaces. Here she pairs our Delilah Statement Necklace with a casual sweater and vest. Her bling brings blah to breathtaking.
Let's hear it for Lariats. This once maligned style is now the IT accessory and officially a must-have for any jewelry box. Whether your style is delicate or bold, there's a lariat to fit your mood. I'm particularly drawn to the delicate styles for there versatility as a stand alone piece or part of a layered look. Mrs. Swansburg looks fab in our Lisa Stewart Lariat Necklace.
Layers. If street style has taught me anything of late, it's to pile on the layers. Delicate Necklaces of varying lengths and sizes especially look great and are an easy way to style a sentimental piece, such as a monogram or an initial of a loved one, without being overly cute.
Last but not least of our outfit-changing necklaces are the Chunky Chain variety. A good old-fashion gold chain with some added heft can feel both contemporary and classic. These versatile pieces are a jewelry workhorse, looking as great with jeans and t-shirts as they do with your favorite little black dress.
These pieces can come long or short with the addition of a gemstone or pearl pendant for added style.
So long frumpy casual look, hello style! I'm off to shop for an outfit changing necklace.
As always, Shine Bright!
